Geotourism in your Community Booklets are Published
National Geographic has produced a 26 page booklet designed to educate community members in Northern Mozambique about the principles of Geotourism. The booklet produced in Portuguese explains what it is...how it helps...ways to make it happen....and who needs to be involved. The booklet will be distributed at community workshops that will take place throughout the region in the next month.
Geotourism Workshops Scheduled
 A
field team from Solimar International will be in Northern
Mozambique from April 1st to July 1st, 2006 conducting a series
of Geotourism workshops in numerous communities throughout
the region. The workshops are intended to raise awareness's
about the geotourism process, recruit members to the Northern
Mozambique Stewardship Council, and start the Geotourism Site
nomination process.

The Northern
Mozambique tourism website which is being maintained by
TechnoServe,
Inc., has announced their support of the Geotourism Project
in Northern Mozambique. The site which is one of the only
online tourism information sites of the region was established
with the support of the U.S. Agency for International Development
through the Global
Development Alliance program and the pro-bono services
of Falcon-Software.
